Serve N requests on an HTTP/1.1 connection, then close with TCP FIN or RST.
The final response has a content length and does not advertise Connection: close.
HTTPS requires an HTTP/1 listener: port 8443 in GKE, or port 8444 for the local server. An HTTP/2 request returns 505. Only requests to these endpoints count. N and the close mode stay fixed for the lifetime of each connection. FIN sends TLS close_notify before TCP FIN. RST aborts TCP without a TLS shutdown; the last response can be lost in transit.
This page makes N+2 sequential fetches. Browsers and proxies can retry or choose another connection;
watch the connection IDs and request numbers. For a single client connection with no retries, use
caesium/scripts/connection_close_probe.py. Start a fresh connection when changing N or mode.
Ready.
